Reggae legend, Ekeleke Elumelu, popularly known as Ras Kimono, the singer died on Sunday 10th June, in a Lagos hospital after a brief illness. Ras Kimono in an interview he granted with PunchNg revealed that he had been a vegetarian for over 37 years and neither smoked nor drank alcohol. May his soul continue to rest in peace.

10. Falz verse MURIC
Nigerien pop singer Falz had a rough battle with Muslim Rights Concern (MURIC) after the released of his controversial song titled “This Is Nigeria”. The song which cause a major stir online was criticized by the Muslim group who gave the singer 7 days ultimatum to put down the song and make a public apology or face legal actions. The Mulism group in their claims said the video portrayed Fulanis and Muslims as killers. It also showed women in hijab engaging in the notorious ‘Shaku Shaku’ dance which they said is against Islam. The video was later banned by NBC.
